Project Does Not Allow Charging

• Error

– Project does not allow charges

• Reason

– New project

– Not the lowest level of the project

– Incorrect project

– Project is closed

• Solutions

– If project should allow charges,

verify

• Correct project level is being used

• ―Active‖ is checked

• ―Allow Charging‖ is checked

– If project is closed and should be

closed

• Select a different project

• Best Practice Recommendation

– Verify that the project is accurate

– Click on ―Levels Setup‖ to find the

lowest level

– Nothing to calculate

• Reason

– No open billing data

• Transactions hit the project before

a Billing Formula was set up

– No unselected bills

– Data has been restricted by Org

• Solution

– Add the Billing Formula

– Run special utility to populate Open

Billing Detail

• Projects > Billing > Utilities >

Updated Open Billing Detail

– Change or become a member of the

assigned Billing User Group

• Best Practice Recommendation

– Set up a Billing Formula when the

project is created

– LIMIT the project, account, and

period if you run the Update Open

– Have ―Export Project‖ set to Time

– Always check this setting when

reviewing project setup

– Make sure correct dates are

entered and updated accordingly

Time & Labor System—but Don’t

Want to Deactivate the Project—

Have Export Project Changed to

None

– This will remove it from your Time

& Labor system

– Rates not loaded for PoP of

timesheets

– Rate sequence not entered in

project

– Project Labor Category (PLC) not

linked to project

– PLC set up in Costpoint but not in

external HR software

– PLC not assigned to employee in

external HR software

missing data or links
