DRAGONS
©2016 Digital Animation for Kids, LLC 2
Your quest
You’re a Dragon tamer and you have been called to find and tame the biggest
Dragon in the land, Snout. You have one problem… no one knows what Snout
looks like. You must draw a picture and send it throughout the village to ensure
everyone knows what you’re hunting. Snout is very clever and loves to hide and
sneak in the darkness. Be careful and good luck!

Your quest
To draw Snout, we are using Paint. See the next 2 pages for a look at our Toolbar then
follow the directions to create a Dragon!

This a graphics editor toolbar from Microsoft Paint. It allows us to draw pictures. Here
are some of the tools that we will use most often.
1. Circle Tool
We use the Circle tool for drawing most of the parts of the Wizard like his head, body,
arms, and hands.
2. Curved Line Tool
We use the Curved Line tool for connecting parts of the Wizard like his head to his
shoulders and drawing his robe. The Curved Line tool is drawn by drawing a straight
line first, then pulling outward and clicking where we you want your curve.

Toolbar soft Paint. It allows us to draw pictures. It’s simple but powerful when you
know how to use it well.
3. Eraser Tool
I love the Eraser tool! I use it to make erase EXTRA lines I don’t need the middle of my
Dragon’s body… anything that I don’t like, I erase.
4. Paint Brush Tool
We use the Paint Brush Tool for connecting parts of the Dragon that we may have
accidentally Erased or adding lines for anything extra.

Tips for Coloring:
1. Before coloring, make sure all of your lines are connected or the colors will
bleed all over your picture- not just in the place you’d like.
2. Using the Line or Brush tool, redraw the stomach, neck, legs.
3. Double check all your black lines are connected.
