6. What have you learnt about technologies from the processof constructing this product?

For my double page spread I wanted to use grab quotes which would grad the readers attention when looking through the magazine. By using Indesign I did this by using tools such as text wrap.

First of all I created a coloured box to put behind my quote to make it stand out. I then created a text box and wrote my quote that I

would be using.

1. 2.

This then wrapped what I wanted and selected around my text by clicking the

button at the top of the tool bar which was called text wrap.

3.

I then also wrapped my quote around the text. This allowed my grab quote to be

wrapped around the text. As well as this It allowed me to move it where I wanted.

4.This what my article

looked like after I put in my grab

quotes.

For my contents page and my double page spread I used Indesign to create them. I wanted the images as well as the other stuff such as coloured boxes on the page to stand out, I did this on Indesign by using a drop shadow. I

did this as I wanted the images to stand of the page and give them a better effect. On my double page spread without the drop shadow the text and the images as well as the coloured boxes looked flat on the page. This

made my double page spread look boring so by adding a drop shadow it gave my double page spread a better effect.

To add a drop shadow I selected fx on the tool bar. I had to select

the items on the page that I wanted to have a drop shadow on by simply clicking on them.

1. By clicking on fx on the tool bar bought up a list of different

effects I could use. By clicking on drop shadow allowed me to

put a drop shadow on my selected items.

3.

By choosing drop shadow bought a option menu. This then allowed me to preview what my drop shadow would like on my chosen

items.

4.

This then put a drop shadow on all my selected items which gave my double page

spread an overall better effect. This was because they stood out on the page with the

drop shadow.

On my contents page my images looked boring, and I wanted something to make them

stand out, so I decided to used a Polaroid effect.

1. First of all I selected the rectangle tool which allowed me to draw

the shape that I wanted.

2.

Then by selecting swatches enabled me to select the chosen

colour which was white.

3.

4.

This then enabled me to draw the shape that I wanted and it filled it

with the appropriate colour.

4.

After ensuring the coloured box was the appropriate size I moved

my image into the box so it looked like a Polaroid.

To give my image an even better effect I chose to add a drop

shadow which enabled it to stand off the page further. I did this by selecting the drop shadow tool

on the tool bar.

6.

After playing around with the rotation tool this is what the final

images looked like on my contents page.
