Is it all a hoax?

Yes or No?

NO. Global warming is a very real issue that is

often avoided by many.

evidence of global warming exist in plenty. Surprisingly, groups of people are trying to turn a blind eye towards the fact that Earth is getting warmer, and this warming is threatening our basic existence.

How Does it Work?

Greenhouse Gases(GHG’s) Gases in an atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the

thermal infrared range. This process is the fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.

Examples:

Carbon dioxide (CO2)- due to burning fossil fuels.

Nitrous oxide (NO2)- released in great quantities by large amounts of nitrogen fertilizer on crops and it is also a by-product of combustion.

Methane is a combustible gas, and it is the main component of natural gas, occurs naturally through the decomposition of organic material and is often encountered in the form of "swamp gas”.

Water vapor- most abundant greenhouse gas, result of climate changes, eventually condense into clouds which is more able to reflect incoming radiation. This allows less energy to reach earth’s surface and heat it up.

How Do We Know?

Global warming has been observed and measured by using thermastatic records and satellite images. Documents temperature increases over the past century. Thermostatic records- Scientists have been recording data of

the natural world for hundreds of years. Recordings, include changes in temperature, sea level, snow cover over the northern hemisphere etc.

Satellite images- document temperature increases by observing the earth through satellite imaging. Temperatures are recoded on graphs and changes are used to monitor the earth’s fluctuations.

How do we Stop it?

Global warming cannot be stopped!Global warming will continue for centuries due to the long natural processes.

There are changes we can make to decrease the effects. Cut down on the use of Green house gases.

The electricity that operates many of the devices in our homes comes from a power plant, and most power plants burn fossil fuels to generate that power.

How we can Slow Global

Warming.

Use less energy, turn off power when not in use.

Replace incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs, which use less energy and last longer.

Substitute high voltage power, fan instead of air conditioner.

Keep automobile tuned up to prevent harmful fuels to generate.

Recycle garbage and refrain from burning trash.

Plant trees to cut down on carbon dioxide and increase the release of oxygen.

Going Green!

Hydro-electric power, solar power, hydrogen engines and fuel cells are alternate energy sources that do not produce fossil fuels.

Cleaning chemicals are also being substituted with natural products which are less harmful to the environment.
