Step 1: Open an internet browser and go to https://biz.yelp.com

Step 2: If you would like to watch the intro video to Yelp, be my guest, if you would like to just jump in and get started with creating your company business page then click on the Create your free account button to continue.




Step 3: It’s time to see if your company already has a Yelp page. Enter in your legal business name and the city that your company is located in. When finished, click on the Search button




Step 4: Take a look at the results that are available to you. If your company is on the results then click on the Unlock button. If your company is not in the results, click on the link at the bottom of the page that says “Add your business to Yelp.”




Step 5: Referencing your NAP document, if necessary, enter in your business information into the given fields. Find the most appropriate category that fits your business. After selecting the main category, a secondary field will populate that will refine the main category. You can add up to 3 categories total. When all of the data has been entered and you are satisfied with your categories, click on the Add button.




Step 6: You now have to verify your email address. Check your email and read the email before you click on the link. A member of the Yelp customer service team has to review your listing before you will be able to claim your business page. Click on the link in the email.




Step 7: This is all you can do for now until the listing has been reviewed by a customer service rep at Yelp. When you receive the email from Yelp come back to this post and continue at Step 8.




Step 8: The verification email you will receive from Yelp will look something like this and will contain a link to unlock your free business tools. Click on the link in the email.




Step 9: Unfortunately someone at Yelp flagged Blue Widget Co’s listing so I will be unable to show pictures of what to do next, but not to fear! I can still walk you through the process step by step. Before claiming your listing you will need to create a login for the listing. Enter in your email address and a password to continue.




Step 10: You are now going to have to go through a simple phone verification process before finishing the process. A 4 digit code will show up on your screen with simple instructions. Make sure the phone line that Yelp’s automated system calls is open and ready so you can answer the phone. Click on the Call Me button to initiate the process.




Step 11: When answering the phone wait and follow the instructions before entering in your 4 digit pin number. After entering in the pin your screen will refresh, welcoming you to your new dashboard. Take a look around and get familiar with the dashboard. You can make changes to your Yelp listing through the dashboard, respond to reviews, set up ads, etc.
