IBM is a mobile business

Historically, IBM has limited smartphone access to a small number of employees

In 2009, IBM embraced a heterogeneous employee liable model and has over 45,000 employees with RIM BlackBerry, Apple iPhone/iPad, Google Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile smartphones and tablets with access to the corporate network

The service is delivered by the IBM Mobile Enterprise Services team

Goal: 100,000 smartphone and tablet users by the end of 2011; majority are employee-liable devices

• 400,000 employees worldwide

• 50% workforce has less than 5 years of service
