Collection Online Questionnaire

Number of Questions

5 (excluding screeners and demographics)

Audience To complete this survey, respondents were required to be part of a 500+ employee organization that has plans to use converged systems over the next year and also to have excellent or good knowledge regarding their organization’s use of converged systems

The purpose of this survey was to gain a better understand organizations’ usage of convergence systems and specifically the related purchase decisions organizations make concerning these systems.

A WORLD OF INSIGHTS

S1: Which statement best describes your knowledge regarding your organization’s use or planned use of converged systems? Base: 53 qualified respondents

In this survey we define convergence as a validated configuration which combines physical compute (processor

or server hardware), networking, storage and unified management on one single box.

Knowledge of organization’s use/planned use of converged systems:

A WORLD OF INSIGHTS

• There was a relatively even split among respondents when describing their organization's use of converged systems over the next 12 months.• 32% Evaluating, 21% Planning a migration to converged systems, 19%

Testing, 28% Migrated at least some applications/ IT workloads

• An overwhelming majority note that the first workload to migrate to converged systems is the IT infrastructure.• Second is Enterprise applications (ERP, CRM) followed by Collaboration.

• The importance of most vendor criteria is equivalent across the board.• Multiple vendor compatibility is the most important by a small margin

while single training program for all system components is most noticeably least important.

• Of all respondents, 43% say they are extremely/very likely to consider using a single vendor for physical compute networking, storage, and unified management. A small group (8%) already are using a single vendor, listing Cisco, HP, IBM, and Simplivity.

• When it comes to convergence deployment model options, pre-integrated systems and integrating individual components in-house are the most favorable options.
