Observation: Yesterday’s low pressure has finally given way to the high pressure from the west. The low / warm front is bringing a lot of rain. Some precipitation is heavy over IL, IN, and OH

Observation: Yesterday’s high pressure cold air has covered most of the US. The remaining low is now bringing rain to AR, TN, KY, WV, and VA. A high pressure ridge has just pushed some precipitation over WA, and OR. Oh, that is such a surprise!!

Observation: What a mess. The high pressure cold air remains over much of the states. But unlike yesterday there are four systems. The stationary front over MT and WY is holding some precipitation over the western states.

Observation: Why does this map indicate that there are alternating highs and lows in both fronts? Aren’t they just two stationary fronts? A March 3rd high over the Northeast must be cold enough to freeze your ……

Observation: More defined warm and cold systems have developed overnight. The stalled warm fronts from yesterday have collapsed south and are being pushed south by a cold front from Canada. The cold front is not bringing any Molson with it… it should go home!

Observation: Wow, a herd of clouds and heavy rain is being driven eastward from TX, through ME. This is all cold precipitation. I think this is the precursor of one of the big mid and eastern snow dumps.
