Advanced features available on most models:

Perfect Page

All scanners come with Perfect Page as standard. Perfect Page helps to deliver high quality images from a wide range of documents regardless of colour, contrast or condition. It processes even the most difficult and challenging original documents with consistently high quality.

Dynamic Threshold functions calculate the output of each individual pixel on every page without manual intervention or the need to re-scan a document. In addition, functions such as automatic alignment of documents (deskew) and automatic orientation so paperwork is readable ensure the best possible representation of scanned documents.

Perfect Page scanning allows you to scan a wide range of documents without the need for pre-sorting, changing scanner settings or post-image processing. Perfect Page also improves the OCR read-rates and accuracy - all of which means higher productivity with minimal or no manual user intervention.

Dual Stream

Kodak CCD Image Sensors produce two images of each scanned document page: black and white and colour or black and white and greyscale, so you can use applications that process two images simultaneously.

Sure Path Paper Handling Technology

Our automatic document feeders accept and feed batches of mixed paper sizes and weights. The document transport technology treats your originals with care and ensures that they reach the output tray in optimal condition and in the correct order.

Ultrasonic Multi-Feed Detection

The ultrasonic multi-feed detection developed by Kodak Alaris is extremely reliable and detects glued documents as they are fed into the scanner.

Smart Touch Feature

This feature makes everyday scanning tasks as simple as possible. Smart Touch enables you to create your own customised shortcuts which allow you to predefine scanner settings, file destinations as well as options for editing and preview. This means it is easy to scan documents to nine different shortcuts such as file, webmail, corporate email, printer, fax, key applications, Microsoft SharePoint Software and third-party-software for upload to Cloud servers. File formats include TIFF, JPEG, PDF, searchable PDF and more.

Bundled Software - Capture Pro Limited Edition

Select Scanners are bundled with Kodak Capture Pro Limited Edition Software, an entry level batch scanning application with document separation and barcode recognition. Output to file, e-mail or Microsoft SharePoint Software in various file formats.

Connecting directly to an IT network, the compact Scan Station 700 scanners provide a convenient way for everyone in an office to digitise and index documents for easy sharing and saving. Both new models are designed to be super quiet when in standby so ideal for offices where minimising noise is key.

Document Cameras

The sceye’s the limit with the document scanning camera

sceye is an innovative document scanner for professional users which effectively photographs a document to create a digital image. It makes sceye great for customer facing situations such as in the banking, insurance, medical or public sectors or anywhere when scanning a document in the context of a business process is required.

A laser projects a rectangle frame onto a desk and all that is needed is for a document to be placed into it and a snapshot will be taken. Within two seconds, the image is processed, de-skewed and cropped to its actual dimension. An OCR engine then reads the content and the scanned image is stored as a PDF, searchable PDF, TIFF or JPEG instantly without the requirement for a mouse or keyboard.

sceye supports resolutions from 100 to 400 dpi in black and white, greyscale and colour.

With sceye, you can scan anything: small receipts, business cards, stapled paperwork or pages directly from a folder, binder, passport or book.

sceye is USB-powered and therefore an excellent choice for mobile applications. The TWAIN driver has integrated image processing functions which eliminate the need for manual corrections after a snapshot is taken.

The Kodak ScanMate i1150 is specifically designed for use in customer facing situations where employees need to quickly scan documents and ID cards as part of a business process to reduce waiting times and enhance customer satisfaction. This could be in a retail, bank, insurance, medical or government context –any transaction-based business environment.

Transaction capture is growing fast used by organisations seeking to operate profitability in multi regulatory and competitive environments where customer service is key. Our easy to use i1150 scanner helps staff to focus on the person they’re serving.

Turbo charge customer engagement using Transaction Mode

Given most of these customer transactions involve scanning 10 documents or less, the ScanMate i1150 has a special ‘transaction mode’ which boosts the scanner’s performance by 60% for the first 10 pages. The Kodak ScanMate i1180 Scanner. Thin client scanning. Large performance.

The third model in the ScanMate series is the Kodak ScanMate i1180. It has been specifically designed to allow easy connection to thin client environments or web-based applications given all Perfect Page image processing is actually done locally within the scanner. This minimises the need to purchase and support high-end host PCs, plus reduces the impact on the network.

Able to process 40 pages per minute with a recommended volume of up to 5,000 pages per day, the launch of the ScanMate i1180 is significant given research shows that 87% of business applications are now browser-based yet only 2% of firms actually leverage web technology for document scanning. 1

All the tools out of the box to develop thin client and web-based scanning applications

The ScanMate i1180 comes with all the implementation tools required out of the box. This includes a full license for the EMC Captiva Cloud Toolkit to make it easy and cost effective for developers using this SDK to write and enable their own thin client web capture applications. This is the first time a scanner in this class has had such software included for free which eliminates the need to buy additional expensive middleware.

The i2400 Scanner comes with our Smart Touch technology which eliminates the laborious and time consuming steps of scanning, editing, naming, choosing a file format and saving images to a predefined application or folder. Just pre-program the scanner with this information, allocate a ‘recall’ number which staff then use time and again when digitising the same document types - it’s the smart way of automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.

Designed to be flexible

The stow and go design of the i2000 Series Scanners let’s you store the i2400 upright when not in use, then pull it out when you need it so it doesn’t interfere with your everyday activities.

A tethered DIN-A4 and DIN-A3 flatbed option is available as an accessory for the times you need to digitise odd sized or bound pages.

Kodak Service & Support for Document Imaging Solutions is efficient, professional, and fast. We service your scanner at your location and give you priority response time, arriving onsite within four or eight working hours. And, not only are labour and parts covered at no charge, a usual amount of scanner consumables are also covered.

The Performance Plus suite caters for all types of organisation and needs from occasional to heavy usage. It brings a new meaning to “Total Service Coverage”.

Performance Plus Offerings

Lite users are those performing non mission critical scanning where other scanners exist for use within the office space. Users want to avoid unexpected high service costs from equipment breakdowns and are happy to purchase consumables as required. Annual manufacturer equipment service ensures scanners work to optimal performance.

In addition to Lite level, Standard users have non mission critical scanning equipment where other scanners exist. Users want to avoid unexpected service and inflationary costs over the anticiptaed scanner life. Consumables costs are included and the business requires a replacement unit for prolonged issues.

In addition to Standard level, Advanced users form part of business critical processes. Fast response to issues is required during extended working days. In the event of an issue or disaster within the environment effecting the scanner, the user needs to be up and running fast with the facility of a replacement loan scanner. Occasional operator training is required from the manufacturer.
