These guys. Recent research (December 2011) showed that analytics pays
back $10.66 for every dollar spent
“A recent examination of Nucleus Research ROI case studies found
organizations earn an average of $10.66 for every dollar spent on deployments
of analytics applications such as business intelligence (BI), performance
management (PM), and predictive analytics.”

That’s with adoption rates of 10%, 15%, maybe 25%
“Despite relatively low adoption rates, Nucleus Research sees a significant
investment opportunity in analytics.”

Imagine 50%

Imagine 90% or 100%

Then imagine that all those people could access business intelligence
information not just when at their desks, but all the time.
How? With mobile BI.

It’s easy for IT: less training required. Anyone ever seen one of these? It’s real,
and it really does have 144 pages!
But nobody ever reads it (imagine being the author). No need – these devices are
so easy

of existing reports is done on the fly)

Improve ROI
Peabody had an existing analytics deployment, so they were already experiencing
healthy returns, However, being in the mining industry, an industry with slim margins,
they needed to keep tabs on costs at all times, and be able to respond more quickly
to wastage. Being split across 30 sites made hat all the harder, until they deployed
mobile analytics. That broader, more immediate use of analytics helped further drive
down costs and improve ROI.

Drive adoption
At 3M the are big fans of mobile analytics. They have already rolled it out to 45,000
employees (that’s over half).
One of the things that IT loves about it, is that with users on intuitive apps, they
hardly ever come back to IT for help!

Improve the
business
At Charite hospital, they have taken the idea of mobility to the next level, and are
using mobile devices to access and compare patient records, thus providing more
immediate and superior care. If caring for patients is your business, that’s the
ultimate improvement to the business.
