Problem• Did you know that scientists believe that in 10-

12 years the orangutans will be extinct? • Farmers are cutting down Orangutans’

habitats just so they can plant palm oil trees. • The decline in the habitats not only leaves

them without homes and food, but they are more vulnerable to their

predators

Who We Are

• We are a group of volunteer 6TH students who are dedicated to helping this cause.

• We give up our free time every Wednesday and Friday to get together and work on this assignment.

• We are reaching out to different people to help stop the production of orangutan harmful palm oil

• We are sending letters, presenting challenges, making signs and

other art work, and making a website

• Orangutans can travel anywhere from 50 meters to 1,000 meters in one day

• The strength of orangutans is believed to be 7 times greater than humans

• The word orangutan means “personof the forest”

• The orangutan is the only Ape species who makes their home on Asia
