DESCRIPTION
Optitex Fabric Testing Unit and Software, based on MARK-10 measuring equipment, is a computer controlled machine driven by a special measuring application developed by Optitex for the purpose of accurately testing fabrics. In addition, several special tools were custom crafted for the machine to enable the measurement of various fabric properties with high accuracy. The output of the solution is a Fabric Data File (FDF), which is sent to Optitex PDS and augments the quality of 3D simulation. Key Benefits: Run accurate virtual simulation for more realistic 3D Stretch, bend, friction and shear done automatically Allows users to measure wide range of fabrics Self calibration for higher accuracy Track to position for better convenience

Highly Accurate Physically Based SimulationExisting systems in the market attempt to test fabric properties in a very basic manner. Based on our user’s experience with such devices, we chose a more scientific method, using sophisticated algorithms to measure the relevant parameters, while validating the results with our highly accurate physically based simulation.
Pre-Production FittingAccurate results are crucial for many types of fabrics that were developed in recent years. This is especially true when using the results for pre-production fitting purposes, either for every-day wear or for special types of sports goods and technical fabrics. In order to achieve high accuracy of the measurements, Optitex selected a high performance and precise machine that allows users to measure a wide range of fabrics and use this data to run accurate virtual simulation with minimum human behavior errors.
Testing Values Done AutomaticallyThe system contains Stretch, Bend, Friction and Shear measuring capabilities. The FTU control application is designed in such a way that once the user has placed the fabric specimen in the machine clamps, testing a Stretch value, is done automatically by the machine first detecting the Initial Rest position and then performing a full load cycle. A similar process is repeated for bending, friction and shear values.
