SEM is located in Vimercate and is the former IBM manufacturing in Italy which become Celestica

in 2006; it started in 2006 to focus on technology service from ODM to EOL into the EMS business.

Roadmaps and technology development had a large involvement of Vimercate site in Europe

leveraging capabilities both from engineerting and material laboratiories which are now serving

the electronic market with such a knowledge base. SEM strategy is to follow customer demand

and requirements, beside the law and European regulations serving also several market segments

to leverage also mixed technologies capabilities.

SEM do have a total of 8 SMT lines in Vimercate (Italy)

5 SMT lines are dedicated to legacy SnPb/MSA assembly able to support on a “just in time”

BTO demand on very low high mix volumes orders

3 SMT lines are dedicated to RoHS products

SMT lines are complemented with 3 Double Waves soldering tools (2 dedicated to SnPb/MSA asm

tecnologies also for field requirements for repair, reuse and rework, granting reliable certified spare

parts process.

Most of them are requiring several differnt technologies and materials and for this purpose we do

have dedicate tools and manufacturing lines with dedicated skilled operators, technicians and

quality engineers and shop floor control systems for process control and traceability.

Our GESTLabs, assures quality control on materials, components and processes with dedicated

highly sofisticated equipment, close to the manufacturing area.

We also provide technology repair services for components reuse throughout qualified reballing
