The website allows audiences to blog analyse video clips of notable title sequences from film and television.

How the website benefits me and the skills I have taken from the websiteThis website benefits me because:

• It shows me examples of OTS’S from all genres not just horror.

• It gives me an idea of the sort of pace I should be incorporating into my editing based on these Title sequences

• It inspires my knowledge in terms of getting ideas for narratives.

What skills have I learnt from these title sequences :

• How to order my credits • Gives me ideas on sizing and Font of credits • Credit animation and its relation to its subgenre of horror• Narrative ideas• Gives me knowledge about composition of shots e.g.

establishing shots, close ups etc.• I have learnt the relevance of having a linear or non linear

OTS dependant on its subgenre and storyline.

Here you can see the comparison between our OTS and Gone Girl and we saw the effectiveness of placing the credit in the bottom hand corner - draws your eye to both.

• It has a range of credit fonts • They match a font with the relevance of a genre• They are free to download • It gives me inspiration for credit fonts and it

helps me to visualise what it would look like when typing in your preferred credit.

• The fonts are easily downloadable.

What skills have I learnt from these title sequences :

• I have gained knowledge on what fonts to use • I know how to apply these fonts to the credits in

the OTS.

Sony handycam – Flip out screenHow the flip screen benefits me and the skills I have taken from using itThis flip screen has benefits me because:

• Allows you too see what you are filming – this helps sort out any issues with setting beforehand etc.

• You can change camera settings when filing before initially editing on final cut such as colour correction and brightness etc. - due to digital software.

• If you are filming and acting simultaneously and the camera is on the tripod, you could flip the screen so that you can see if you are in the right frame.

What skills have I learnt from this feature:

• I have learnt how to film with the camera in my hand• I have now learnt how to do a variety of shots such as a

POV shot as I can see what I am filming• I can set up a composition within the view of the camera.• I have mastered how to film myself without a cameraman

How the playback function benefits me and the skills I have taken from using itThis playback function benefits me because:

• Allows you to watch back your footage instantly without delay

• Can get other opinions from different audience straight away from the digitally saved clip. This is useful as you are able to pick up on mistakes instantly rather than in the editing stage. Can playback footage to compare to other clips.

What skills have I learnt from this feature:

• Having the playback feature leaves less room for error and so I am more watchful of any mistakes that may come up in filming.

Screencast-O-MaticWhat is screencast?A screencast is a digital recording of computer screen output, also known as a video screen capture, often containing audio narration.

When was it used?It was used to answer an evaluation question on our OTS draft 1 and final draft.

This software was useful as it enabled us to reflect on our video as a group and point out things in real time.

The software was good as you could pause and restart anytime . This software also helped me learn how to analyse my work better and to be able to pick out improvements and this is useful when attempting to improve a piece of work.
