• Know the size of the body of water (page 3 in catalog)
• Identify your growth. Is it weeds, algae or both?(page 4 in catalog)

weeds and algae, you will want to apply the product as a spray application. Your customers will get more out of the product and a more effective treatment by spraying.
Managing ExpectationsManaging a pond owner’s expectations is key. A beautiful pond is indeed possible, but it may take an entire season of diligence to achieve that end result.
• Let the customer know it may take some time• It didn’t get to this condition overnight, so it isn’t going to be cured overnight• PONDS AREN’T SWIMMING POOLS. They are bodies of water with natural
earth floors, having everything needed to support plant life. Some plant life is a sign of a healthy pond.
• Keep treating on a regular basis
Truth• You CAN treat a pond that has fish• There are a variety of pond dyes. Your water doesn’t have to look
like “Tidy Bowl”• Pond Dye does more than just color• You can’t use one product to cure all of your problems• You will have different problems from one year to the next. There
are many different variables from one year to the next
Helpful Tips• Fertilize with a no phosphorous fertilizer around your pond• Do not fertilize a 20ft. area around the perimeter of your pond• Do not dump or mow grass clippings into pond• Allow grass to grow a little taller around pond to help filter any
run off coming into the pond
