Sony HXR-MC2000E Shoulder Mount AVCHD

PAL Camcorder

Description:

The Sony HXR-MC2000E Shoulder Mount AVCHD PAL Camcorder features a 1/4"

Exmor R CMOS sensor and a Sony G Lens with a fast f/1.8-3.4 aperture and a 12x

zoom ratio. The HXR-MC2000E can record HD 1080i or 720p video on 64GB of

internal memory or via the media card slot, which accepts Memory Stick PRO or

SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. The AVCHD compression format uses the MPEG-4

AVC/H.264 codec, and variable bit rate modes allow users to prioritize image

quality or file size according to their needs.

A user configurable manual lens ring can be assigned to adjust a range of settings,

like focus, iris, white balance, and exposure controls. The lens's Optical

SteadyShot function is supplemented by Sony's 3-Way Shake-Canceling

technology, which adds electronic roll stability. The ergonomically designed

handle contains a record button and zoom control. There are also cold shoes on

the front and rear of the handle.

The HXR-MC2000E can also record SD video in the MPEG-2 format, which is the

same compression codec as standard DVD video discs. If your project will end up

on DVD, then using this format can save you production time and maintain the

original image quality. When the camcorder is connected to the optional DVDirect

Express DVD writer (sold separately) via a USB cable, a single press of the One

Touch Disk button is all it takes to burn video footage directly onto a DVD,

without using a PC.

1/4" Exmor R CMOS Image Sensor

The HXR-MC2000E's Exmor R CMOS sensor is rated for minimum illumination of 3

LUX. Sony's imaging system incorporates back-illuminated technology that

doubles sensitivity compared to conventional CMOS sensors. Autofocus

technology is also enhanced to perform better in low-light.

Fast f/1.8-3.4 Lens with 12x Zoom Ratio

The Sony G Lens features a fast maximum aperture of f/1.8-3.4 a 12x zoom ratio.

The focal length is 2.9-34.8mm, which renders a 35mm equivalent of

approximately 29.8-357.6mm in 16:9 recording modes.

HD 1080/50i and 720/50p Resolution

The HXR-MC2000E features several different recording modes. AVCHD FX mode

records 50i frames of 1920 x 1080 resolution video at 24Mbps. Variable bit rates,

as low as 5Mbps allow users to conserve file space. Progressive scan video can be

recorded at 50 frames per second with 720 resolution.

Solid State Memory

Video can be recorded to 64GB of internal memory or to the media card slot,

which accepts Memory Stick PRO or SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards.

AVCHD Compression Format

The AVCHD compression format uses the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec, and variable

bit rate modes allow users to prioritize image quality or file size according to their

needs. Most NLE software programs support AVCHD input and editing.

User Configurable Manual Lens Ring

Using the assignable lens ring, users can manually adjust key parameters like

Focus, White Balance, Exposure, AE Shift, Iris priority and Shutter Speed priority.

Users can control the G Lens iris to create an out-of-focus effect.

Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode

Sony's stabilization technology realizes images that are up to 10x steadier than

conventional Optical SteadyShot images. As the user zooms in, an intelligent

digital image stabilizer works together with its optical counterpart to reduce

camera shake. This technology also reduces shake in the rolling direction that

sometimes occurs when shooting while walking.

MPEG-2 for SD Recording Format

The HXR-MC2000E can also record SD video in the MPEG-2 format, which is the

same compression codec as standard DVD video discs.

DVDirect and Direct Copy

When the camcorder is connected to the optional DVDirect Express DVD writer

(sold separately) via a USB cable, a single press of the One Touch Disk button is all

it takes to burn video footage directly onto a DVD, without using a PC.
