Djibouti is a city and a small country on the horn of Africa beside the Red Sea, north of Ethiopia. It is French speaking with 94% of people Muslim. It is dry and hot. Here there is an Adventist health centre which thousands of people depend on for medical, eye and dental care. Although this clinic is in a slum area of Djibouti it has made a good impression and provides clean and safe health care which the government cannot provide. The aim of the Djibouti Adventist Health Centre is to optimally utilize the resources available and use them in the most effective way possible. It is now urgent that the clinic be upgraded, the accommodation for staff be completed and repairs and upgrading of facilities be carried out soon. The only Adventist small church group of approximately 25 members is needing en- couragement and prayer. The support of newly baptized members is of paramount im- portance. Many lose their jobs yet they are faithful to God’s call. The needs are: locate a temporary ophthalmologist a gynaecologist or paediatrician to establish a practice there to complete the building of an apartment block for staff and guests to repair the water filter to explore ways to assist new members to be self supporting Health Ministry is the right arm of the message and this is certainly so in Djibouti.
