The needs of users traveling to locales with unfamiliar languages are not being adequately met.
Current tools do not give contextual translation information (formal, informal, idioms, expressions).
Current tools do not facilitate a community environment and prohibit a seamless and fluent conversation.

1. Internal discussion to brainstorm who should be interviewed, what questions to ask and how to collect the data.
2. Engage with non-native English speakers to discover their experiences traveling and in daily life in regards to language and translation. Learn about their general tendencies and interaction with languages. What are good and bad features of the current translation tools they most often use in their daily lives or while traveling.

Travel communication story - In Turkey, the taxi drivers cannot speak English (so I showed the words from the dictionary app and let them see the “keywords”) Also used Google translate, often used if they can’t understand the pronunciation (shows them the phone)

Anyone who wants to communicate to someone in another language that they do not know or are not fluent in.
How Does It Work?
Easy Translate records audio input from one user and sends data from device-to-device in a seamless and automatic way to deliver translated audio to another user in their native language. Downloadable language packs are provided to allow search capability when WiFi not available.
