INTRODUCTION

INTACH was founded in 27 January 1984 in New Delhi,

Headquartered 71, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi-03.

Since 1984 INTACH has poineered the conservation and

protection of India’s natural and Cultural Heritage.

Today it has its Chapters in 170 Indian Cities, as well as Chapters

in Belgium and the UK.

The Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of

INTACH constituted the first Governing Council of the Trust.

In 2007 INTACH signed a Memorandum of Understanding with

AUSHERITAGE.

PURPOSE

Restoration of Monuments and their Management.

Preservation of Art, Culture, Architectural Heritage.

Awareness through Heritage Walks and Buses to

various UNPROTECTED Sites.

Establishment of Heritage Clubs in Schools.

Holding of Heritage Workshops for Teachers of

Schools and Colleges

Development of Heritage Sites/Circuits which have potential.

Developing of Heritage Interpretation Centres with Signage's.

Developing Training Modules for Guides of Heritage Sites.

Providing Advice on Issues Connected with Heritage Properties and

Hotels.

Conducting Tourism Impact Assessment Studies to Assess the Impact of

Tourism on Heritage Sites Conserving Socio-Economic, Political and

Economic aspects and Tourism Surveys.

Providing Inputs to Central/State Governments on Heritage Tourism

Policies.
