The Religious & Sacred Kumbh Mela 2016 In Ujjain

It is really hard to hear that someone never heard about the Kumbh Mela , it is the most

peaceful gathering place in the world. It is a mass Hindu pilgrimage faith in which Hindu

gathers to bathe in the sacred river, it is a festival where people gather from round the

globe, that why it is the only festival where more than 120 million people gathers.

Traditionally, there are four fairs are extensively recognized as Kumbh Melas (Mela means

fair): the Haridwar Kumbh Mela, the Allahabad Kumbh Mela, the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar

Simhastha and the Ujjain Simhastha. These four fairs are held periodically at one of the four

places by rotation: Haridwar, Allahabad (Prayaga), Nashik district (Nashik and Trimbak) and

Ujjain. The main festival site is located at the banks of these rivers – the Ganga at Haridwar,

the Sangam (confluence) of the Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Sarasvati at Allahabad; the

Godavari at Nashik, the Shipra in Ujjain. According to Hindu mythology bathing in these

rivers is a thought to rinse all your sins.

The Kumbh Mela is held in every 12 years at the given place, there is a difference of around

three years in Haridwar and Nashik, and the fairs at Nashik and Ujjain are celebrated in the

same year or one year apart.

Exact time of the fair is determined by the Indian astrology, according to a combination
