• Vocation training program for disadvantaged people in Central and Southeastern Europe
• The project Modern Bakery program enable vulnerable young people to be trained by experienced bakers and to get skills needed to become bakers and pastry chefs.
• Once they have completed the training program they are awarded a diploma and be able to apply on the job market

Goals and Objectives
• Create a program that will inspire young disadvantaged people worldwide to learn more about bakery and pastry as their potential future careers
• To free them from welfare dependency and set them on the path to employment and self-employment
• To improve young people’s key and life skills, provide them with self-confidence and self-esteem, thus encourage them be actively involved into the society
Who is it for?
• Young people aged 14-25 with basic school education or illiterate
• Disadvantaged young people that want to gain practice skills in bakery and pastry and increase their employability
• Bakeries and pastries that need skilled bakers• Companies that produce equipment for bakeries and
pastries • Government social centers that have responsibility to
provide opportunities for disadvantaged youth people.
Innovative aspects
• The idea is targeting the companies, government services and disadvantaged young people and unite them among one main issue
• The approach is “learn for live” where the young people are taught by experienced bakers and they are gaining the key skills needed for better life
• The learning-by-doing method is enabling everyone without any educational background to be included into the program
Transferability
• The Modern bakery idea could be replicable everywhere in the world, there is no geographically limitation
• The starting point for the program - partnership between the government, business and non-profit sector could be easily achieved even on the local level
• The program could be used to include all target groups of young people into the society, besides their gender, age, religion etc..
