Converse Optimistic Rebels was about

Creating a “spark” for Social change.

By highlighting the different “causes” in the world that are relevant i.e.

Hunger, education through the use of Flash Mobs (mobile art galleries)

Flash mobs creating pathways of change, raising awareness around certain issues. Getting students to engage and raise their concerns

A Platform in the form a Life-Size Chuck Taylor was created.

Students could leave MESSAGES of what they wanted to change.

The most common “cause” would physically be implemented, by inviting those students to come out and help

Most common “cause” out of 3500 messages was

Education.

360 student from JHB, DBN and CPT where invited to come and renovate 3 dilapidated High Schools and Crèches

Converse Optimistic Rebels teaching and engaging with students and children in the creches

Each High School and Creche received a fresh coat of paint. High Schools received Computer Resource Centers

Creches received a Play Library Room

The Finished Resource Center (High School)

360 Students Helped changed the lives of over 880 rural students and children
