Easy CommissioningFCT (Festo Configuration Tool), a PC-based software package, provides an easy-to-use, menu-driven environment whichenables all motion control parameters and profiles to bedefined, verified, and downloaded to the controller viaits built-in RS232 interface with minimal effort. Since all the keycharacteristics such as themechanical actuator, movingloads and external bearing friction are known virtually nosystem tuning is involved.FCT software provides a numberof powerful features to helpspeed system commissioning,including reference travel, diagnostic functions, and aninteractive "teach-in" mode ofoperation, which enables directcontrol of system componentssuch as the handling axis fromthe PC.

Step-by-Step ConfigurationFCT provides an easy systematicand logical platform to configuredevices. The well illustrated layout and navigation bar together with online testing andteaching features makes configuration and commissioninga simple task. A single projectcomprising of multiple devicescan be archived and e-mailed ifrequired.

Comprehensive Project/MachineDocumentationProject and device descriptionscan be quickly printed out andintegrated into the documentation for the respectivemachine.

Common Configuration UtilityThe FCT software is used to configure a variety of electricallypowered subsystems, includingMTR-DCI servomotors, SFC-DCcontrollers, HME linear positioning axes, andSBOC/SBOM vision systems.All of the electrical drives withina defined system/machine canbe managed by means of the FCTtool as a single project. Definitionand integration of the respectivedrives are accomplished bymeans of device selection.
