Star“Reflected the historical currency of the termwhere the cinema is concerned. The term “star”is used to imply a discursive interaction between on and off-screen image” (Redmond and Holmes,Pg 8).

Personal Definition: Term referring to an individual who posses a classical talent (i.e.) acting, singing, athlete, or a dancer. A star is a person who deviates from the norm and posses an extraordinary trait that separates them from the rest of humanity.

Personal Definition: Term used to define an individual who does not posses a traditional talent but still deviates from the norm with non-traditional behavior. We find them so peculiar that their actions prove to be “talents”. Examples: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Rebecca Black, The Kardashian’s.
