HTR-PM600
6 reactor modules connect to one steam turbine, the same safety features,
the same major components,
the same parameters,
comparing with HTR-PM
the same site area and the same reactor plant building volume comparing with the same size PWRs

which is in China, under the condition:
1,reduce the 1st of a kind costs,
2,increase the plant power Generating Efficiency
3,order 12 reactor modules at the same time.

Regulatory R&D Project: “Regulations, guidelines and safety review technology of HTGR
nuclear power plant”, 2014-2020
Members Regulator: Suzhou Nuclear Power Research Institute, SNPI
Regulator: Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, MEP
Designer: INET, Tsinghua University
References Safety documents developed by NNSA of China for PWRs
State-of-the-art IAEA safety documents
Progress Code on the Safety of Nuclear Power Plant: Design (2016) is generally
applicable to HTGR
Some safety guides need major revision or new development

Regulatory for Multi-modular
Standard for high temperature material for HTR(steam generator, Gas-turbine)
Study of off-site emergency response and Planning Restricted Area
Safety Class review for systems and equipments
14
Regulatory R&D
Repowering fossil power plant Inherent safety: no reactor core melt-down; very
limited release of radioactive emission in accidents
Research on simplify off-site emergency response Accident consequences of HTR-PM are evaluated with very limited
radiological effects.
HTR-PM owns the conditions of reducing Exclusion Area, Planning Restricted Area and Emergency Planning Zone.
Technically, HTR-PM can simplify the off-site emergency response, without complicated emergency preparedness and large-scale off-site emergency protection operations.
At present, the National Nuclear Emergency Management Agency is reviewing the feasibility of simplifying the off-site emergency response of HTR-PM.
