Mr Richard Reed aged about fiftyyears died at 11 oclock this morn¬

ing at his home in the southeastern-part of the city from congestion MrReed had been in very poor health forseveral years but until very recently-had been able to be up and out mostof the time-

r Reed was from Paducah Kycoming to Ocala to reside about fiveyears ago He was a well educated-and deeply read man and was muchliked and highly respected by all whoknew him He was very retiring andmodest but to those who knew himhis friendship was highly valued Hewas formerly in the mercantile busi-ness

but for several years pis healthhad not permitted of his engaging inany active business-

Mr Reed was married about sixyears ago to Miss Minnie Bailey ofthis city a daughter of Mr and MrsJohn E Bailey The friends of thefamily and the management of theStar extend their heartfelt sympa-thy
