• Cleared out 333 VHS tapes (donated to Goodwill)

“Ditch Dewey”

• Summer of 2013 reorganized Nonfiction section based on:• Research and findings of other

libraries• CCLS• Intention of increasing circulation

of nonfiction• Increasing functionality of

nonfiction area and making students more self-sufficient

subjects• Each book has picture and

words instead of a number• Students have ease of

access• Increased nonfiction

circulation• Students can find their own

materials

exceed nonfiction circulation 2 to 1

• New CCLS curriculum stresses nonfiction reading

• Nonfiction reorganization has increased circulation from that area to 5 to 1, in favor of nonfiction

• Currently, circulation at the Intermediate school favors fiction

• Students find the nonfiction section cumbersome and difficult to find what they want

• They can use the OPAC, but can’t find what they need on the shelves
