July 23, 2015: Edinburg,TX- The BBVA
Compass Volunteers McAllen Chapter visited
the Edinburg Housing Authority to teach their
Youth Leadership Group the Money Smart
FDIC financial literacy curriculum. Empowering
underserved youth with financial skills is a way
for BBVA Compass to give back to our
community. The Youth Leadership Group was
very receptive regarding the topics presented.
The presenters from BBVA Compass were
Ernesto Sepulveda, Robert Rosell and Sam
Lopez.

June 11, 2015: Pharr, TX- The McAllen Chapter
partnered up with Teach For America to
volunteer at the RGV Food Bank. The event took
place in part to welcome a new cohort of TFA
teachers to the Rio Grande Valley. Support of
both TFA and the Food Bank allows us to
reinforce our commitment to low to moderate
income individuals.

Teach For America Resource Fair held in Pharr, TX at
Thomas Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School.
August 15, 2015: Pharr, TX - Teach For
America is an nonprofit organization that
recruits quality teachers and places them
in schools with a high proportion of econo-
mically disadvantaged students. Bank
employees shared the volunteer financial
education services available for teachers
and their students, from classes about
paying for college or buying a home.

Seals Perfect Pair event and McAllen employees
volunteered. The event was held at the Edinburg
Conference Center at Renaissance. Proceeds
from this event will support children served by
Easter Seals RGV.

Upper Valley Market donates $15,000 to Keep McAllen Beautiful
May 11, 2015: McAllen, TX- The Upper
Valley Market was recognized at the
McAllen City Meeting on May 11, 2015 for
their support of $15,000 to the Keep
McAllen Beautiful. Funding went to help
revitalize neighborhoods by remodeling
the homes of low income senior citizens.

McAllen Chapter attends Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Las Colonias Conference
FRB of Dallas Las Colonias Conference held at McAllen Convention Center
July 31, 2015: McAllen, TX- Community Relations Officer Ruben Ramos and Compliance Officer Robert Rosell attended the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Las Colonias Conference held at the McAllen Conventer Center. The conference provided up-to-date analysis of key issues relevant to the Texas border colonias. Local, regional and national experts presented on models of success for those working to improve life in colonias and other underserved communities.

Bank It Forward Across McAllen Area
July 20-July 24, 2015: McAllen MSA- Across the Upper Valley Market, employees participated in the Bank It Forward week long intitiative. With a great number of people living in poverty in this region, BBVA Compass responded to the needs of the community by perfroming random acts of kindness.
