Zimbabwe• Zambia called an

emergency summit of leaders of Southern Africa this crisis is very similar to the case that went on in Pakistan with their president Mushariff.

• Zambia and the opposing force has accused President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe of with holding election results from the election that took place on March 29 to remain in power.

• Opposing contender for power, Morgan Tsvangirai, claims that he won outright in the 2008 election.

• African leaders are going to meet this Saturday to coordinate a reaction to this political situation.

• The Dalai Lama arrived in the United States on Thursday for the first time since the recent crisis in Tibet.

• He came here the day after the Olympic torch that ran through San Francisco was disrupted by demonstrators.

• The Dalai Lama says he was saddened by the demonstrations of protestors but that no one can tell the demonstrators of Tibetan freedom to “Shut up”.

Economic: McCain’s HOME plan

• McCain has a new plan for the Economic Crisis in the United States at this time.

• His plan calls for more government support in this crisis.

How it works

• In order to qualify for the plan you must have a primary residence.

• If someone owes 150,000 in a loan for a house that costs 100,000 the government would reduce the origonal loan to only 90,000, the 60,000 would be split up between the government and the spender and get split three ways the govt. would then make up the money they owe to the home seller from the 30 year mortgage the buyer is a part of.

How Obama and Clinton view this Plan

• In a speech by Obama he said that he was glad he finally has an economic plan but that his Plan is a “do-nothing” Strategy.

• Clinton feels the same way and calls Obama’s plan only a “half-measure”
