Winning is a habit! We head into this week’s game against Pirates Amateurs after a fine performance against tough opposition in Withycombe. Unfortunately, I wasn’t available for the game, but ‘Morgs’ was full of praise for the lads.We are in a habit of winning games now, and we will be continuing to keep taking each game as it comes. Pirates Amateurs are a strong outfit and will no doubt provide a strong challenge and will be looking to go one better than their narrow defeat to Lanner last weekend. The lads really felt the support from the crowd last week, and I hope you all continue to come and support the lads as they continue to endeavour to improve each week.
Toby Freeman, Head Coach.
Welcome to The Memorial Ground for today’s game with Pirates Amateurs. The men from The Mennaye are growing in stature as the season has gone on after a difficult start to their campaign, which means Penryn are going to have to put in a good performance to keep their unbeaten record intact.

• A big happy birthday to Bill Folland who is celebrating his 90th today at the club and is also kindly sponsoring the match ball this afternoon. Many happy returns Bill, and thanks so much for your support!• Don’t miss tomorrow’s Sunday Independent as there will be a special feature on Penryn RFC and the developments at our club.• Please don’t forget to support Club chairman Stephen Long, known to One And All as ‘Marf’ in his reverse Movember fundraising initiative in aid of Prostate Cancer care. Donations can be given to Marf on a matchday at The Memorial Ground, or via his Justgiving page which can be found at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/marfsmovember• Penryn RFC’s new club shop is now open for business, thanks to our relationship with MC Sports, Falmouth. There is a wide range of official branded Borough merchandise on offer, provided by our official kit suppliers Mizuno. The club shop stocks: Penryn RFC replica shirts, Hoodies, Polo Shirts, T-Shirts, Shorts, Pitchside Coats, Gillets, Beanie Hats, Baseball Caps, Penryn scarves and Penryn bobble hats. There are images of all the items on our online shop and purchases can be made too by visiting http://www.penrynrugby.com/shopping/list It is possible to range collection for your items in MC Sports as well as having them posted directly to your front door. You can buy items in person at MC Sports Shop, 23 High Street, Falmouth. From the club homepage, the online club shop can also be accessed by clicking on ‘shopping’.• Penryn Saracens hosted Launceston 2s here last weekend, and despite the fact that the Cornish All Blacks emerged 38-7 winners, it must be said that the thirty-eight points scored by Launceston is the game is the lowest amount they have accrued in a game all season. • Penryn Ladies returned to winning ways with a 44-10 win over Plymstock Albion Oaks last Sunday. Borough’s tries were scored by Sarah Stovell, Tanya Reed, Nicky Watts (2), Martha Simons (2), Kayleigh Calloway. Jane Curnow added two conversions. The result sends Penryn Ladies up to second in South-West Two South, just a point behind leaders Withycombe.• The U13s continued their superb form with a 30-10 win at Camborne last Sunday. On the scoresheet for Penryn were Kian Crockford (3), Dylan Denne (2) and Fin Hudson.• The U14s also had a successful outcome when they travelled to Newquay on 29th October, when they won their second game in succession, this time, 55-17. The forwards were particularly impressive against an opposition side who were particularly sporting. The scorers were Jacob Smith (2), Milo Kemp (2) Joel Miller (2) Mackenzie Munns (1) Soloman Littlejohn (1) grabbing the tries with Jack Dunstan doing a great job with the conversions.
