1 The MeetingTourist

This is the person who is in every meeting because theyare well connected in the organization. They may haveonly been invited to a meeting once but they never stopcoming. They are quick to accept meeting invites and areoften there early and ready to talk about anything-but-work. For them, being visible at meetings justifies theirexistence, expertise, and intelligence.

invited to a meeting once but they never stop coming. Theyare quick to accept meeting invites and are often there earlyand ready to talk about anything-but-work. For them, being

3 Mr. No Data Mr. No Data arrives with spreadsheets and piles of data andnumbers; however, he can never find the correct data whenrequested. Furthermore, his colleagues consistently say thatthe numbers he has are inaccurate. Mr. No Data knows everyfantasy football stat but has no idea if team metrics on thescorecard were red or green for the last week.

The person who always references past events, how thingsused to be, the good old days at the company, he cites reasons

why an idea won’t work using historical examples.

5 NegativeNancy

The person who always views the glass as half empty. Shealways finds a way to kill the excitement and enthusiasmwithin the team. She is always presenting the negative impactor aspect of a situation. She seldom offer solutions and limitsher participation to reasons why things won’t work:

RamblerTypically late to meetings. Feels their time is more

important but quick waste everyone else’s. The person whofeels compelled to restate the obvious. They go on and on

about items that either don’t matter or are not relevant tothe topic at hand. They take five minutes to say something

that should take 10 seconds.

7 Mr. “I Got It”Guy Is the person who frequently volunteers for a task during the

meeting, but never follows through on completion. For othermeeting participants it becomes Meeting Ground Hog day asthey think to themselves “He said the same thing last weekand the week before and the week before.” This guy is all talk,no action!

The person who frequently says “I heard” or “someone toldme” in the meeting. Their comments may or may not be true
