Definition

Preposition is a word, which is used to link nouns, pronouns and phrases to other words in a sentence.

Prepositions like at, in, into, on, above, below,

under, beside, opposite are used to indicate place and position

Example : The rabbit is in/inside the hutch. Pamela is jumping into the pool.

The pitcher is on the table.

Some prepositions show when something

happens. They are called prepositions of time.

Example : We’re going to the zoo on Saturday.

No, you can’t watch a video. It’s past your bedtime already.

Indifinite Article

“A” and “An” are the indifinite articles. They used before nouns that introduce something or

someone you have not mentioned before.

Example I saw an elephant this morning.

I ate a banana for lunch.

use “A” when the noun are referring to begins

with a consonant (b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y or z)

use “An” when the noun are referring to begins with a vowel (a, e, i, o, u)

“The” is definite article.It used when you know that the listener knows or can work out what particular person/thing you are talking about.

The apple you ate was rotten.

already mentioned the thing we are talking about.
