Company Overview
• The company was founded in 2008 with the name Ambertec
Importação e Exportação and the objective of importation and
sales of telecom and other electronic equipment in Brazil.
• In 3rdQ 2011 it’s director and sole owner finished his
partnership in other business and began to dedicate full time to
the Company, which then change name to Mareste.
•
The company also integrated in its portfolio many other
activities like equipment sales, technical services and support,
Consulting services, etc.

• Mareste is a private held company directed and controlled by Marcio Esteves and has no debts or
loans of any kind.
• It’s located in two offices, both situated downtown Rio de Janeiro
o The first is where the administrative and accounting dept. are located
o The second for management, meetings and customer’s relationship
• The Company is fully licensed to perform the following business activities

o Electronic Equipment Import and Export

• Brazilian economy is growing stronger and stronger, besides
international crisis

Vast oil reservoirs were discovered by Petrobras and followed by
almost all other oil companies of the world
• These factors pushed the offshore and maritime business in Brazil to
a explosion-like growth in the last years.

• Almost all drilling companies, supply vessels companies and other
oil-exploration related companies are setting up operations or are
already in Brazil.
• New Shipyards are been built to accommodate the new local demand
for vessels of all sort of purposes – Tankers, PSVs, DSVs, MPSVs,
Drilling rigs, FPSOs;

Shipyards from many parts of the world are now under contract to
build vessels to work offshore Brazil, according to Brazilian
standards and specifications

The Petrobras Scenario
• Petrobras plans includes the fitting of all supply vessels under contract to
operate with Petrobras Network using VSATs; Actual numbers shows +650
vessels until 2015
•
Petrobras will not allow ship owner to use their network for internet access or
voice connectivity;
• Crew and captains are pushing the installation of a second and, in some cases, a
third VSAT antenna and services for crew welfare and corporate/ship owner
communications.
• Supply vessel’s companies are looking for a one-stop-shop supplier to provide
equipment according to Petrobras specifications (Multisat/Annex V) as well as
supplier of telecommunications services and TVRO equipment and support

• Strong knowledge of stabilized antenna systems form different manufacturers
o Orbit training held in 2010
o SeaTel training held in 2002, 2006, 2008
o DMS training held in 2007
• Strong knowledge of satellite telecoms via SCPC and TDM/DVB
o Link budget analysis and SCPC links configurations
o iDirect network design, HUB installation and remotes troubleshooting and installation – Courses held
in UK and US
• Good knowledge of Cisco routing, VoIP configuration, LAN/WAN network equip.
