Introduction

There are internal and external problems

faced by JKR. In addition to dealing with

problems that are often disrupted road and

management problems also cause several road

projects delayed. This because the road to face

problems such as frequency of surface, holes in

the road, cracks, and the depth of the hole.

Therefore, JKR decided criteria based

standard specifications for road construction

and the appointed contractor must fulfill the

conditions set.

ROAD MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND THE APPOINTMENT OF CONTRACTORS IN JKR KEDAH

This thesis discusses the problems faced by the JKR in the management of road maintenance. Issues such as road perishable can be a danger to

consumers. My research is in Kampung Sungai Korok Jitra Kedah. Objective excavation of this thesis is to identify road maintenance management

systems and identify the procedure for the appointment of contractors by the JKR. In addition, there are three main methods in the management of roads

that can be implemented as ordinary maintenance, regular maintenance and emergency maintenance. Contractors appointed must also have expertise in

repairing roads and must be appointed by the appropriate method.

• To identify a management and maintenance of roads

by the JKR over Kubang Pasu District area.

• To identify the procedures in appointing a contractor

for JKR project management.

OBJECTIVE/S

RESULTS

JKR management, particularly in addressing the problem of road damage and determine common methods used to appoint contractor for road maintenance

projects. The results show that management is very important within the organization. Poor management will lead to various problems that plague. However, the

best management can make something work to achieve the quality and the user will be satisfied. Therefore, the role of all the important and essential part in

achieving success. Appointing a contractor must follow specifications so as not to cause prejudice against the organization. If all these aspects are practiced

certainly the image of an organization will be better in line with the country in achieving Vision 2020.

Recommendations for the future research is important to ensure that future research more effective. Other researchers can use other methods to research such

as observation and interview data to be obtained more accurately. Researchers can also learn about the best management in the organization.

From the result, the highest mean of maintenance, factor

effect, method and procedure.

Summary Of Descriptive Statistic

Pearson correlation results verify that all the research

hypotheses are accepted, but there is strong relationship

between procedure and factor effect.
