Please note that all persons 16 years of age and older CANNOTobtain a Mentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth FishingLicense. These “license types” are only available to youth under 16 years ofage. As such, these license types will not be visible as available selections topersons 16 years of age or older (based on date of birth entered) or if theyusing their adult CID (Customer Identification).

Persons 16 years or older must create a new customer account onThe Outdoor Shop for the youth whose name will be applied to theMentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth Fishing License. Uponpurchasing one of these license types, a CID number is established for theyouth. Note that to establish the youth's CID their social security numberand birthdate are required.

Alternatively, if the youth has participated in the Game Commission’s (PGC)Mentored Youth Hunting programs, persons 16 years of age and older can purchase these license types usingthe youth’s CID that was established with this prior PGC purchase. 

To obtain a Mentored Youth Fishing Permit or purchase a Voluntary Youth FishingLicense, follow the steps below:

STEP 1: To begin, visit the Outdoor Shop.CLICK HERE while leaving this instructional page available for reference during your visit.

STEP 2: Select option to “Purchase Fishing and/or Hunting License Permit.”

STEP 3: Scroll to the bottom of the same page.Click "START HERE." 

STEP 4: Enter one of the identification options listed for the youth angler.

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Click “Continue.” 

STEP 5: After entering the contact information, please scroll to the bottom of the page.Select "Purchase a License, Permit.”

Click “Continue”

STEP 6: Select either the Mentored Youth Fishing Permit or Voluntary Youth Fishing License. 

Scroll to the bottom of the same page.

Click “Continue”

STEP 7: Enter payment information if purchasing a Voluntary Youth Fishing License on the“Purchase Verification” page.

Click “Continue”

STEP 8: Print the Mentored Youth Permit or Voluntary Youth Fishing License by selecting option“Print License(s) Document."

The permit or license will open as a PDF document in Adobe Reader.

Proceed to print permit or license.
