Why CF Industries? The company s outlook for North American crop nutrient producers remains positive. Strong demand and tight inventories are expected to support crop prices and continuing high levels of plantings in 2012, particularly for corn. This tight balance should be expected to support high corn prices for the next several years, providing farmers with a compelling incentive to plant corn. The company projects U.S. farmers planting 93.5million acres of corn in 2012 - an increase of 1.6 million acres from 2011. Farm income in the U.S. is expected to reach a record level in 2012, strengthening farmer’s incentive to apply crop nutrients in the fourth quarter. Assuming normal weather conditions, CF Industries expects a very strong fall application season. Global supplies of all crop nutrients continue to be tight and are expected to remain so throughout 2012. CF Industries expects to continue to earn attractive margins due to its advantageous footprint, its focus on operational excellence, moderate natural gas costs and favorable product pricing environment. Prices and margins have been fixed through forward sales. The outlook for natural gas costs in North America continues to be very favorable for nitrogen producers. The company expects to spend between $50 million and $60 million to complete a de-bottlenecking project at the Donaldsonville ammonia #5 plant, which was acquired through the Terra takeover. On completion, this project is expected to increase the plant s annual ammonia production capacity by approximately 100,000 tons.

NS, through a general partnership rather than a limited partnership interest. Income investors who don't mind the additional risk inherent to the general partnership may want to consider NuStar GP Holdings for its faster growth potential. Like most publicly traded GPs, NuStar GP Holdings has no operations or assets outside of its interest in the underlying LP business. This is not necessarily a bad thing, in our view. The LP has more than doubled its quarterly distribution payment since inception in 2001, thanks to its stable crude oil and refined product pipelines and terminals businesses, the bedrock of its narrow-moat rating. In late 2007, the LP added asphalt operations to the mix, which had a solid year in 2008 when prices spiked, but have performed poorly since because of a weak housing market and economy. However, the core fee-based businesses, storage and transportation, are picking up the slack by investing in a wide variety of attractive bolt-on projects. All told, the roughly 80% fee-based part of NuStar's business should invest about $700 million-$800 million in 2011-12, which will make weaker asphalt cash flows less relevant with time and should help accelerate distribution growth.
