When is a T-Bond a Stock?

Never, but you could be confused by looking at your brokerage statement.

Bond ETFs and closed-end bond funds are simply portfolios of individual bonds.

Check your brokerage statement.

I bet that you will find these securities under the heading “Stocks” or “Equities.”

One more thing…

You will rarely find time-weighted returns on brokerage statements.

Without returns, you don’t really know how your investments are doing.

Why is pertinent information like investment allocation and performance often so poorly communicated? Brokerages must have this information.

Perhaps brokerages do not have the incentive to provide this information, but we do.

Successful Portfolios is an independent Registered Investment

Advisor. We want to share our clients’ investment allocations and

returns with them.

Our clients hire us to implement and manage their investment

portfolios according to a mutually agreed risk and return mandate.

To fulfill this mandate, we buy and sell securities in our clients’

brokerage accounts. In turn, clients pay us a percentage of

the assets we manage.

The better our clients do, the better we do. Incentives are

aligned.

We believe that it is in the clients’ interest to see...

How we are investing their money,

Their monthly, yearly, and from inception total returns,

and their monthly cash deposits and withdrawals...

all in one perfectly clear and concise report.

In this way, the clients can see that we are working for them.
