Year

Created By: Robyn Shulman, M.Ed.

My Career

My career began in the classroom. In 2006, I Iaunched the1st Graduate Advising Center in the history of

National Louis University. I ran the academic & career advising program

with incredible success for 5 ½ years..

IN 2011, I HAD TO MAKE A VERY HARD

DECISION...

…….TO MAKE A POSITIVE CHANGE IN MY LIFE

To Move On...

To Grow...

Both Personally & Professionally..

TO TAKE RISKS

TO STEP OUTSIDE OF MY

COMFORT ZONE

TO DISCOVER

I became very active on Linkedin with the full intent to find a new job immediately....

They are new too.

However, I discovered so much more...

..Because I had a platform to share my ideas, inspiration, and the ability to learn and meet

amazing people

All along my career path, I had many ideas that were ready to be shared with the world...

However, I did not have the chance to share these ideas during my journey...

10 Ways Linkedin Changed My Life In One Year..

Relationships..

I created amazing new relationships with

colleagues in my field..

I met CEO’s of education companies, superintendents, professors, academic

advisors, writers, publishers & teachers..

The group is getting close to 2,000 members worldwide. Members include teachers, professors,

deans, students, superintendents & political figures from D.C.

Linkedin Groups..

I started my own Linkedin group:

ESL/Bilingual Teaching Professionals

I Found My Passion For Writing Again.. I began to write & launched ED News Daily. To my

great surprise, others heard my voice, communicated & reached out to me...

Strength...I found the courage to submit my work & I was published!

I began writing for Chicago Now & shared content via Linkedin....

..that sparked amazing conversations

A Great Honor of ParticipationXavier University’s “American Dream

Project”

Alongside participants such as Secretary of State Jesse White, Founder of ShareThis, Tim Schigel,

and CEO Stuart Aitken, Xavier University interviewed me about my life's work and

dedication in the field of education. To date, this interview, part of the "American Dream Project,"

is the only permanent video registration of American Dreamers.

Painting and Web Design.. I decided to paint again & began web

design...I found a place to share my work..

Opportunities..I received the opportunity to participate in SlideShare for publishers via Linkedin....

..And I love it!

I Discovered...

Both Personally & Professionally..

Greater

Confidence

A Greater Sense of Sharing

I Can Help Others In

Ways I Could Have

Never Imagined

I ALSO DISCOVERED A NEW SENSE OF MYSELF, MY GOALS & DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE..

....And You Can Too

Thank You Linkedin & SlideShare!
