Primary Criteria

1. Overall Excellence

The site should be simply the

best available in its

category or be the one of the

best informational resource

in selected subject area.

2. Content Richness

abundant, rich, high-quality

content

The most important three words in

website evaluation are “content,

content, content”!

3. Breadth

The site should cover a subject

area and provide extra links

concerning the content.

4. User-friendliness

The site should be intuitive

and easy to us.

If the navigation is not so

easy, it is preferred to offer a

user a little training.

5. Reliability

The site reliability and availability

are important. It should not crash a

user’s browser.

6. Wholesomeness

No harm, no uncomfortable

feeling

The site should not include

pornographic websites, websites

devoted to the lurid details of

infamous crimes, or websites that

might reasonably be considered

“the dark side of the Net”.

7. Freshness

The site needs frequently

updating, renewing.

8. Security

The site should have no significant

security risks to the user.

If it is a commercial site, it has to provide

security of all the restrict transactions.

If it is a site from which the user can

download things, ensure that these things

are safe for the user’s system.

• Free Content

• No annoying advertising

• Easy-to-remember URL
