Inserting references in Word with EndNote

Citing a reference in

Microsoft Word with EndNote

Tavistock and Portman Library

When you arrive to a point where you want to cite a reference, click on the “EndNote Web” tab at the top of your screen.

If you haven’t done it before, Word is going to ask you to type in your EndNote login.

Click on “Insert Citations”.

Type a term in the search box. It will retrieve all references saved into your EndNote account containing that term.

If you need a bit of help remembering what you’re looking for, refer to your EndNote library in your browser.

Click on “Insert”.

Your citation gets inserted at the

point of the text where your cursor was.

The full reference appears at the bottom of the document to create a reference list.

It’s up to you to give your bibliography a title and to insert a page break so that it won’t appear on the same page as your text.

And you’re done!
