What is the target?
The imminent risk is that if warming extends beyond certain so-called tipping points, a number of feed-backmechanisms set in:
•Diminishing CO2 uptake capacity in the sea•Melting of solar radiation deflecting ice caps•The thawing of methane saturated permafrost areas
-spiraling the globe into a faster and, notably, irreversible, rate of global warming.

Fair allocation would mean 2 tons per person

Since IPCC’s latest report
The EU is committed to reducing its overall emissions to at least 20% below 1990 levels by 2020, and is ready to scale up this reduction to 30%.
Now Denmark supports this target.

The EU has also set itself the target of increasing the share of renewable energy use to 20% by 2020.
