Baltic Sea

Baltic Sea is situated in Northern Europe from 53°N to 66°N latitude and from 20°E to 26°E longitude. Border with Germany, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

Dimensions

The Baltic Sea is about 1,600 km long, an average of 193 km wide, and an average of 55 m deep. The maximum depth is 459 m which is on the Swedish side of the center. The surface area is about 377,000 km² and the volume is about 20,000 km³ . The periphery amount to about 8,000 km of coastline.

These straits join North Sea with Baltic Sea. Their surface amount to 42,400 km² and depth water amount to 17 m.

Animals and plants.

Aquatic animals in the Baltic are herrings, sprats, hakes, flukes, eels, salmons, seal, starfishes, porpoises. Plants which we meet in the Baltic Sea are algae. On the dunes we meet Eryngium maritimum.

I at the Baltic Sea

In this photo I am first time at the Baltic Sea. I am one year old. My mother is keeping me on her hands. I don’t remember this, but I know I have liked sea.

Sunset

I like sunset. Then sun is beautiful. It looks like flame. It is red, orange and yellow. It is magical. ♥
