Business-Owner Bob has a vision.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
He wants to grow his business,
make money,
add employees,
have an impact on his community.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
But no matter how hard he works, he can’t
seem to make it a reality.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
He’s too busy being the
operator and there just
aren’t enough hours in the
day.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
He needs a plan.
But where does he start?

Creating a Plan 4 Steps to Creating a Map To Your Destination
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
1. Set the goal. • Where do you want your business to go? Profitability? Debt free?
Pass it on to your kids? Sell your business for a big profit? • What is that one pressing thing that never gets done?
• Where can value be created? What drives revenue? What drives
your balance sheet?

2. Involve more people. Bring your leadership team
together.
Combine both formal and informal leaders. Titles are checked at the door and everyone has a voice.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
• What should next week
look like? Or next month? • Set goals for short time
periods so you can start seeing successes early.
3. Start simple.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
4. Identify obstacles. Your job as the
leader is to solve problems.
Identify what they are and
figure out how to fix them.

Time to go to work.
Execute the Plan
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
1. Analyze your resources.
How is every resource working towards that main goal? If a resource isn’t, fix it.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
2. Overcommunicate. There is no
substitute for a clear message.
Make it a part of
the culture.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
3. Keep the team focused. Give your team tools to handle the rough patches.
Get “buy-in” and cooperation from everyone –everyone must be on the same page and moving in the same direction.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
Accountability is key.
Stick to the Plan
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
1. Be transparent about the results. Educating people within the organization makes for better employees. Hiding information encourages side chatter that drives distractions.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
2. Celebrate successes. Set some interim goals and
celebrate. Buy lunch, have a BBQ, pass out prizes.
Give recognition.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
3. Focus often on progress checks. Measure progress, course correct as a group, and challenge assumptions.
EVOLUTION CAPITAL PARTNERS
When a plan is created, executed, and stuck with, a vision can become a reality.
