• TA and NCPACE funding is only available for those academic courses expressed in semester or quarter hours and that lead to a vocational/technical or academic associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. – No more CEUs or clock hour courses

• One-year requirement onboard first permanent duty station (PDS) prior to TA application.

• An individual education plan must be on file with the Navy College Office prior to enrolling in any college courses funded with TA and NCPACE.

Academic Skills Changes

• Academic Skills training is being replaced by Department of Defense (DoD) DANTES Online Academic Skills Course (OASC).

• DANTES OASC satisfies the DoDINST 1322.9 and OPNAVINST 1560.9 requirements for service provided Academic Skills training. It can be accessed directly via their webpage http://www.petersons.com/dantes/ or through NKO library.

• Sailors on deployed units will still have access to instructor led Academic Skill training through NCPACE. Contact your local Navy College Office to arrange for NCPACE Academic Skills.

DANTES Online Academic Skills Course (OASC)

• DANTES Online Academic Skills Course (OASC) is entirely web-based and available to Sailors, Civilians and Family Members.
