In this modern competitive era, possessing good interview skills is prerequisite for every individual to achieve
his/ her professional goals. These skills can be acquired only through experience and mock interviews provide
a platform for improving these skills. A mock interview is an emulation of a job interview used for training
purposes. The conversational exercise usually resembles a real interview as closely as possible for the purpose
of providing experience for a candidate.
With this above mentioned sole aim, Nirmala College of Pharmacy conducted a Mock Interview on 18th
December 2017 for IV B Pharm students at Seminar Hall from 1.00pm to 3.30pm. Prior to the Mock Interview,
lectures were provided to students on basic interview skills and styles. A panel of five eminent judges including

Pharmacy, Dr. Bharat Mishra, HOD Pharmacology, IQAC Director, Dr. Badmanaban R, HOD Pharmacognosy,

potential in various fields of Pharmacy. The Mock Interview started with a brief introduction on the procedure
the candidates have to follow during the interview process. Then, five students (Alex Jose, Sajeena Mol, Suraj
KV, Jayalakshmi PM and Anitta Joseph) were randomly selected and called for the mock interview one by one.
The whole class was present as the audience to observe and analyze the entire presentation.
A real interview ambience was recreated and the interviewers asked questions that could clearly
measure the candidate’s inner caliber. Factors such as appearance, greeting, resume, self-introduction, body
language, eye contact, posture, language, stress handling, confidence and attitude were analyzed and a score on
100 was awarded to each candidate to determine their competency levels. Prompt feedbacks were given by the
interviewers and the students got an ideal chance to introspect on their own strength, weaknesses and the areas
where they could improve. Different career opportunities wide open before pharmacy graduates were also
discussed to help the students to opt for the best career that perfectly suits them
