New Information: Item Drop Offs in the Front Office
We wish we could accommodate you but due to Covid -19 we are no longer able to accept drop-offs of
items for your students. Please remind them to bring everything they need in the morning. If it is an
emergency please call 321-454-1030, ext. 24001. Thank you for your cooperation.
Learning Options (eLearning vs. in-person, on campus):
Parents and students, it is imperative that you follow the learning option you have selected. Students
cannot switch from in-person, on campus to eLearning and vice versa without notifying school
administration. If you need to change your learning option, please complete the Google Form, and allow
for 24 hours of processing time. If a student is transferring from in-person, on campus to eLearning, we
MUST have a BPS eLearning Agreement on file.
Also, all students must check-in and check-out with Ms. Vickers in the Front Office if students arrive after
the first bell and/or leave before the last bell. No exceptions.

eLearning Students – Remember to Login
Please remember that you are required to login to your classes at the time your classes start. The eLearning model
is time specific and you are required to be “present” for the entire class. Treat this platform exactly as you would if
you were in person in class.
Students in Person, On Campus Reminder
Parents, please remember to check your child’s temperature before having students report to school. If your child
feels sick in any way, please keep them home. If your student will login from home due to not feeling well, it is
imperative that you contact Ms. Vickers and your student’s teachers to inform them that your student will report
online for that day.
Service-Learning Update
Middle School students are exempt from needing to accrue their service-learning hours for the school year
of 2020-21.
Seniors who already have earned 100+ hours are exempt from needing to earn their 25 hours for the year.
All other high school students, at this point, need to be looking for ways to earn their hours. The
Department of Education has not yet announced a reduction or grace period in the requirement for Bright
Futures, so Edgewood’s standard will continue to be to have all graduating students eligible for that
scholarship. Please refer to the Service-Learning section of our school website for information on where
you might volunteer, and – please – share information with your classmates and peers. This is obviously
going to be a difficult environment in which to find volunteer hours.
If more news comes from the Department of Education regarding Bright Futures, administration will revisit
the issue of high school hours.

7th – 10th Grade
Progress Monitoring In accordance with Executive Order No. 20-52, school districts must expand their progress monitoring
plans to include most of the 7th-10th grade students. This means that most Edgewood students in grades 7-
10 will be taking a Reading Plus Benchmark (ELA) and a MAP Growth (math) computer-based assessment
three times during the school year. The first testing window runs from August 26th – September 24th.
Students will begin testing this week. If you are an E-Learning student your teacher will give you directions
to take the Reading Plus assessment at home, however, the MAP will have to be taken at school. You will
receive further information about the dates and times that you will be asked to come to campus later.
Testing Information Students who will be taking 7th grade math, Algebra 1, or Geometry this school year should be completing
their MAP (math) progress monitoring assessment by the end of this Friday 9/24/20. If you did not take
the assessment and did not receive an email with your scheduled date and time please contact Mrs. Poley
Emails will be sent out approximately two weeks before the October 14th testing date with the specific
location and time that your child will test. Math Progress Monitoring (MAP) Assessments will be held the next two weeks for students in 7th grade, Algebra 1,
and Geometry. E-Learners please check your email for more detailed instruction.
If you have any questions concerning testing please contact Mrs. Poley at [email protected].
