CONFLICT IN DRAMA• CONFLICT IS A STRUGGLE BETWEEN OPPOSING FORCES THAT

DRIVES THE ACTION IN A LITERARY WORK. THE CONFLICT CAN

OCCUR WITHIN A CHARACTER OR BETWEEN A CHARACTER AND AN

OUTSIDE FORCE, SUCH AS ANOTHER CHARACTER. BECAUSE

PLAYWRIGHTS CAN'T REVEAL A CHARACTER'S THOUGHTS THE

SAME WAY A SHORT STORY WRITER WOULD, A CONFLICT THAT

OCCURS | CHARACTER MUST BE PRESENTED THROUGH WHAT THE

CHARACTER SAYS OR THROUGH WHAT OTHER CHARACTERS SAY
