We wait in joyful expectation for the coming of our Lord as King. But what we are told to expect and rejoice over is a meek and humble king, riding on an ass. Not horses or chariots of the great and mighty, but a humble beast carries the Ruler whose do- minion stretches from the River to the ends of the earth(Zechariah 9:10). This King comes to banish the tools of the warrior and bring peace. No wonder that a wea- ry world rejoices and gives thanks to God! Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. ! Invitation ! Manners in Church

Back in the day, remember when gentlemen wore coats and ties and ladies wore hats and gloves when they went to church?

1. Neatly contain chewing gum before entering church 2. Visit the restroom before leaving home—it is understood for legitimate reasons for restrooms visits during the Mass. 3. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc…Please don’t forget, when our youngsters need a restroom break, walk with them to and from the restroom 4. Dress properly for our Lord—neat, clean and respectful 5. People pray before the Mass begins—respectful quiet without interruption is always appreciated

Remember when praying aloud in weekday Mass, church groups and other religious gatherings to respect the privacy of those who

are in prayer. Our Lord knows each by name and their needs.

*A REQUEST FOR HELP *

Sister Jose’s Women’s Shelter is providing an amazing ministry in Tucson at its new location. They are serving their capacity of 40 women per day. During these days of extreme heat the center is providing all night shelter for the women as well as daytime services. As you can imagine, this expanded ministry places greater demand on the need for volunteers. In speaking with Jean Fedigan, the center’s director, today, she expressed the need for more help in food preparation. Training is provided for all vol-unteers. An impressive accomplishment in the transition to the new location is the development of detailed policies and proce-dures covering the following areas: • food service in line with health codes • overall safety of staff, volunteers and guests • expectations of guests related to behavior, accountability, help with clean-up, etc. • job descriptions for maintenance, housekeeping, volunteers • donations procedures In other words, Sr. Jose’s Shelter has done an outstanding job of adapting to and utilizing its new facility. If you or your church or faith group are able to volunteer in any way, especially in the area of food service, please call Jean Fedigan at 520-954-3373. Any help would be most appreciated.

As always, thank you and may the Lord bless you for all that you do in response to the needs of our brothers and sisters.
