Notice ofPublic Hearing

The City of St. Albans is considering making application to the State of Vermont for a Plan-ning Grant under the Vermont Community Development Program. A public hearing will be held on April 1, 2013 at 6:30 PM at City Hall, 100 No. Main St., St. Albans, VT to obtain the views of citizens on community devel-opment, to furnish in-formation concerning the amount of funds available and the range of community develop-ment activities that may be undertaken under this program, the im-pact to any historic and archaeological resourc-

es that may be affected by the proposed proj-ect, and to give affect-ed citizens the oppor-tunity to examine the proposed statement of projected use of these funds. The proposal is to apply for $30,000 in VCDP Funds which will be used to accomplish an analysis of the feasi-bility of developing new housing at the site of the City’s current pub-lic works garage on a 2.3 acre parcel of land on Aldis St. The pri-mary expense under this grant would be the Brownfields Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environ-mental Assessments necessary to explore the possibility of high-occupancy residential on the site. SWANTONBOARD VACANCIES

The Town of Swanton Selectboard is seek-ing applicants to fill five volunteer positions on its land use boards. Two vacancies are for 4-year positions on the Development Review Board. One vacancy is for a 4-year position on the Planning Commis-sion. Another vacancy is for a 1-year position as the Town of Swan-ton’s representative on the Northwest Regional Planning Commission’s Board of Directors. Another vacancy is for a 1-year position as the Town of Swanton representative on the Northwest Regional Planning Commission’s Transportation Advi-sory Committee. Each position requires atten-dance and participation at one night meeting monthly. DevelopmentReview Board

Staffed by our Zon-ing Administrator, the DRB is charged with conducting formal hearings on develop-ments in a fair and unbiased manner. At their hearings, the Board takes testimo-ny, reviews evidence, and renders decisions in accord with our reg-ulations. In general, the DRB meets twice a month. There are two vacancies for 3 year terms and 2 al-ternate seats for a 1 year term available.

Regional Planning Commission

This Commission consists of 2 mem-bers from each town in the Franklin/Grand Isle region. It is com-missioned to plan for regional projects, bylaws, town plans etc. This commis-sion meets monthly at Northwest Regional Planning Commission. There are 2 positions for 1 year terms avail-able.

State Correctional Center Liaison

CommitteeThis committee meets on a quarterly basis with the Superinten-dent of the Northwest Correctional Facility and then reports back to the Selectboard. There are 3 positions for 1 year terms avail-able.
