Since the latter part of September the Avengers have had a lot going on. On 14 September we had a company rock climbing day at Craig Gym. Several soldiers were previously certified to fulfill duties as belay masters for the day. Everyone had fun watching 1SG fall off the wall sev- eral times. This event was part of our resiliency training and serves as part of our alcohol and substance abuse alter- natives program. Don’t drink, climb a rock instead. On 19 September the spouses met to do a gun safety class and shoot some rounds, the count was over 1500 in about two hours. We had a lot of fun shooting everything from hand guns to lever action pistols to semi auto- matic rifles. Pictures from the event are posted on the photobucket website. On the 28th of September we held a suicide awareness stand down during which we had several classes focusing on how to assist those in need of help. We also participated in a brigade run during which our company was awarded the ‘devil stakes’ streamer for search a detainee. This was one of several competitions that companies send teams to compete in every month. The individuals that won us this great honor are SGT Jaeger, SPC Pavlich, SPC Reynolds, SGT Bigorra, and SGT King. Thank you for putting your best effort into the event and teaching everyone else to ‘NEVER QUIT’. This month on 11 and 12 October we were given the opportunity to assist Junc- tion City Middle School, our battalion sponsored community school, with land navigation classes. This was a lot of fun for the children to learn a new skill and gave soldiers an opportunity to get in- volved with the commu- nity. SGT Jaeger did a fabulous job coordinating the event. There were over 16 soldiers in- volved with assisting hundreds of students refine their skills. This month has been an overwhelming feat of property accountability in both wres- tling with PBUSE and the increased invento- ries. As we pre- pare for the change of com- mand we will continue to con- duct and refine the inventory process all through Novem- ber. Great job so far, keep up the excellent work. Never Quit!
